The air here is different tonight. For weeks, this ravine was just a jagged scar behind the redwood treeline, but now, soft light pulses from the new lanterns lining the stone steps. Steam rises in thick, white pillars from the geothermal pools, vanishing into the dark canopy above.
You stand at the edge of the "Heat" pool. The water is still, reflecting the stars that struggle to peek through the redwoods. There is a sense of permanence now—not just here, but everywhere. The history of this place isn't floating in scattered notes anymore; it's etched into the "Time-Ring" gallery back at the Waystation. The world feels heavier, more real. You take a breath of the sulfur-tinged air. It smells like a fresh start.
