Inside the walls, industry continues: new tools have been forged for the classrooms, and the plans for the coming season (The Spring Planner) have been refined and sent away. The hearth is warm, with meals prepared for the returning weary.
But the eyes of the Watchtower are trained on the perimeter. The shadows in the valley are lengthening. News has arrived of "enforcers" (ICE) moving through the nearby crossroads (Ft. Lowell & Oracle), bringing a chill that no wall can fully block. The air is thick with a defensive tension. The Hero rests, but the shield remains up, knowing that the fight for the mind—and the neighborhood—is getting closer to the gates.
